IN THE WILDERNESS

CHAPTER ONE - THE RIDE

Bulma's fist slammed the table, rattling the coffee mugs.
Damn it! she swore silently. She had been working for weeks on this stupid thing, and it still wasn't responding.
She began to use every dirty word on the machine, and thumping it at various places. Then she sighed and walked around the machine, wondering where she had gone wrong.
Finally, she had a brain wave. Bulma grabbed her screwdriver and a circuit board, and dived under the machine. After a few minutes of rewiring and fixing, and then the machine began to beep. Bulma jumped on her computer and quickly downloaded her data into the machine. In half an hour, it was finished.

Bulma sat back and looked at what she had finished: an advanced version of the hover bike she had used on Namek.
She smiled. "Bulma, you are a genius! Now let's go give this baby a try out, huh?"

She wheeled it out of her workshop and gazed around. Her mother was watering the gardens, singing to herself. Her father was fixing something, mumbling to himself. And Vegeta was eating. As usual. She revved up the hover bike and flew off to the forest.

Vegeta watched Bulma go off on one of her 'blasted contraptions'. He wondered why he was watching her. It's not like she's special or anything....or is it something else? Maybe he was becoming soft, like Kakarott. He scowled. Kakarott.... He gazed up at the sky and took another bite of one of the numerous sandwiches that Bulma had made for him sullenly. He smiled. It was fun, tormenting her. It was so easy to make her mad, to see her blue eyes flash dangerously, her hands resting on her hips, unless they were throwing something at him. He sighed and finished off all the rest of his food and headed for the gravity chamber.

Bulma flew through the forest, occasionally scaring the wildlife and damaging a few branches. "Woohoo!!" she shouted out. "This is the greatest!" She decided she would go to the edge of the forest and back. She sped up, and turned on the radio on the hover bike. It pumped out Bulma's favorite music, and she sang loudly as she flew past trees and rocks and bushes.
Then it all went wrong.
